The generation of teachers in language schools is changing. As generation Z is entering teachers’ rooms and online classes’ lobbies, they bring with themselves their identity, beliefs, lived experiences, hopes and fears. In this webinar, I will share how the human resources management of this new generation of teachers is different from the conventional existing approaches. After a quick review on the typical characteristics of Generation Z, we will look into how diverse their lived experiences are with regard to their visions and values, their communication with technology and the soft skills they have been exposed to. Next, we will discuss if the participants have recruited teachers from this generation recently, and what challenges or opportunities this has brought to the community. Then we will analyze the major conventional human resources leadership styles and discuss why each challenge is or is not giving a pivot on the management style of them. The participants will have a chance to review a 10-item visionary list of a language school whose senior and generation-Z teachers are working happily and productively with one another.
